THESE ARE SOME QUESTIONS I HAVE RECIEVED ON THE FORM THAT NEED SHARING ..Only the ones that are relative to the Maltipoo/Maltepoo will be answered here .
QUESTION ...If you breed a Maltese or Poodle with any other dog do you get a hypoallergenic dog or a non shedding one ?
ANSWER....NO ....some dogs like the Golden and others shed quite a bit ,so just being bred with a poodle does not always make them not shed and certainly not hypoallergenic .
It is even not true that a Poodle or other dog ,even the crosses are totally hypoallergenic .The allergies you may have may be to any dog ,no matter what it is .So ,if you have allergic reactions to Maltipoo ,it is because that is the way is .No dog is completely hypoallergenic .ALL dogs shed to a degree ,dander is more the allergy problem also and some dogs have it worse than others .
So ,if a breeder says that a dog is hypoallergenic and you should have NO problem ,it is a sales gimmic and please beware .
I tell people it is an individual problem ,that maltipoos and other crosses are less apt to give them an allergenic reation ,but it can and does happen .Each person's allergies are different .

Question ..... Are Maltipoos/maltepoos good with children ?
ANSWER : As a breeder I can only answer for what I have experienced with mine and YES ,my Maltipoos/maltepoos seem to gravitate to children and the sick or elderly .
I have several Maltipoos/maltepoos that are being trained as theraphy dogs .
One Doctor took her maltipoo to work with her ,she noticed that with procedures that caused distress in young children ,she would let them hold Lola .Well....it worked ,the children and elderly or ill ,espically ones with high blood pressure ,seem to mellow out while holding /petting Lola .Now Lola is in Theraphy school and is doing well from what I have heard so far .
Maltipoos/maltepoos seem to be born with the natural ability to look into your soul and all you have to do is let them .Unconditional love ,it pays to have that once in your life.
